When pondering egg donation in Florida, it’s crucial to understand your financial responsibilities. Generally, you can expect to pay about $8,000 on average, while an additional $8,500 goes to the agency fee. Then, there are out-of-pocket costs, including legal retainers and donor travel fees. The Egg Donation Process

To fully understand the egg donation process, potential donors should educate themselves about the multiple stages. You can expect the following:

  • Egg donors must self-inject hormonal medication, generally once per day, for around 12 days, as this should stimulate the formation of multiple eggs in one ovulation cycle.
  • Blood and ultrasound screenings are conducted, to ensure eggs have sufficiently matured before being retrieved.
  • Performed on an outpatient basis, egg retrieval involves the insertion of a thin needle, guided by an ultrasound probe, to gently remove donor eggs from the small fluid-filled sacs known as ovarian follicles.
  • For 30 minutes, donors will be sedated, in a semi-conscious state, to make the egg retrieval process painless.
