Finding a Surrogate in Michigan
A surrogate, or gestational carrier, is someone who agrees to carry a pregnancy for an individual or couple. At Fertility Source Companies, we specialize in matching well-qualified surrogates with intended parents through our exclusive matching program.
Surrogacy Laws in Michigan
In April of 2024, Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed the Michigan Family Protection Act, which repealed a ban that made Michigan the only state in the nation to criminalize surrogacy contracts. Overall, it better protects surrogates, parents, and children so that IPs in Michigan have the support they need to start a family.
Surrogate Costs & Fees in Michigan
The total cost of surrogacy in Michigan depends on various factors but typically ranges from $100,000 to $125,000. This price includes an initial agency fee of $30,000 and a base surrogacy fee of $50,000, which you'll pay in installments. In addition to the base fee, you'll reimburse the surrogate for other expenses, like maternity clothes and other miscellaneous costs. - Sign a surrogacy agreement with an attorney
- Perform a series of hormonal medication self-injections in preparation for pregnancy

Many of our staff members have been surrogates themselves and can provide next-level support, having gone through the process first-hand. Learn more about the surrogacy process.
